It is used where tests are derived from testers skills and intuition and their experience with similar application and technologies.

These Techniques can be useful in identifying special tests not easily captured by formal techniques.

Two important experience based techniques are

1.Error Guessing-Guessing Errors Based on intuition by testers to come up with a few test conditions. It is a very informal technique. So its is totally based on testers real life knowledge of using various products and web applications.

2.Exploratory Testing-Useful where there are no or very few user requirements available to us and where there are severe time pressures. So here instead of using the lengthy procedures of writing test cases etc. we use exploratory testing.
